Ministry Update
We hope you are enjoying our new format! You can even leave comments! I am hoping that I have figured out how to get notified that a comment has been left so they do not go unanswered as long as they did last month. 😉 Feel free to contact us with what you like or do not like with the new format. Also, let me know if you are notified when I respond to your comment.
October started off with the Family Rally at CAMP at MCR (Muscatatuck Christian Ranch) in North Vernon, IN. From there we headed to VA. We were blessed by Poplar Creek Church of Christ and Big Branch Church of Christ. The next day was the Singspiration held at Grundy Church of Christ to kick off the 54th National Prayer Clinic. It is a great few days of messages from the Word about prayer, and also features music by several singers including the Mountain Mission School’s choir.
From there we headed to two NC churches we had not been to before: Cabin Swamp Church of Christ and Rosemary Church of Christ. It was a very blessed time and one of the churches is actually in a swamp! Guess which one. 😉
After returning home we went back to VA to present our program to Vansant Church of Christ and Ferrell’s Creek Church of Christ. While we were in VA at the National Prayer Clinic we learned more about the Coalfields Expressway. Google Maps on our phone does not know that one of the sections is finished so we had not been able to find how to get on it. Well, we were finally able to with some help from our friends in the area. One reason we wanted to figure it out was because many people see elk in that area and… we wanted to see the elk, too.😊And we sure did! They were beautiful!
I was also able to restore the calendar dates on the website for all future dates. We still have a big hole with past dates, but that can be fixed as we have time. The month of November is busy, but not with very many concerts. We will be singing in KY four times including one song at Camp Nelson National Cemetery for their Veterans Day ceremony. Doug and Christina will be singing “America’s Still Beautiful to Me” by Krista Melton.
November is starting with Doug and Christina playing at a wedding in London, KY. After that we will be visiting Doug’s sister and her family in MI, and of course Katie, too! Doug’s sister is having a change in her chemo treatment to something stronger so we hope she will be well enough for a visit.
The rest of the month is busy with Christina’s baby sitting and dog sitting jobs as well as giving and receiving violin lessons. We also hope to be able to visit ICOM while it is in town. AND, we need to get the dust off of our Christmas songs because our Christmas concerts will be starting soon. We still have a couple of openings if you’re interested!
As we mentioned in the last newsletter, Christina has been having trouble with her voice since about September 18th. We think it was caused by an allergy attack. There has been some improvement which is good, but her vocal chords are still very weak. People have not been hearing much singing from Christina lately, but thankfully it has not affected her instrument playing! She has seen an ENT that deals with vocal issues to make sure there is no damage on her vocal cords. (Update – see Christina’s Corner for the results of her visit)
Check out our schedule to see the exact times and dates of all future events!

Christina’s Corner
All the lyric videos from my Lord of the Rings-inspired album are now published on YouTube! This has been a fun return to the visual/animation side of things. My work there continues as I edit a music video for Diggles Family Ministries. Any guesses which song its for?
Thank you to all who have prayed for my voice as we traveled this past month! This morning I saw an ENT who specializes in vocal health. I was so grateful to learn that there is no visible damage to my vocal chords! I’ll be on a strict schedule with allergy medication while I move toward recovery, though I have not decided yet whether to pursue the referral to vocal therapy or to find a vocal coach (The doctor says it should be safe to do either option, though it would be *best* to do vocal therapy. I am currently researching the financial side of things.) Please pray for wisdom, provision, and healing!
The new lyric video below features sounds of the sea recorded while we were visiting Cape Canaveral this past January! The waves were so peaceful that I had to record them, though I didn’t yet know what I’d use them for. Happy listening!
